The great Eric Stanze reviews The Cemetery..

“Ahlbrandt’s skills as a cinematographer provide shots that are always interesting, and the flick is nicely paced, thanks to sharp editing by Ahlbrandt and producer Anton Sattler.  The cast, topped by J.D. Brown, Natalie Jean, Adam Huss, Tim Cronin, and Tabetha Ray, is exceptional.  They create attention-grabbing characters who weave together interestingly – and their performances definitely bolster the film’s vicious, unrelenting, go-for-the-throat tone.”

Review on ‘Dr. Carnage’s World of Terror’

Posted in REVIEWS on June 16, 2013 by adamahlbrandt

Doctor Carnage
“This film has everything any horror fan looks for. Scares, a dark atmosphere, lots of blood and a very talented group both in front and behind the camera. The acting is natural, never over the top, and comes across as believable. The setting of the movie is dark, unsettling and is almost a character in itself, giving the movie even more life. The gore in the movie is free flowing and very well done. The Cemetery definitely contains some of the best effects seen in modern cinema. Films such as this certainly make a huge case for the pluses of prosthetic effects as opposed to CGI.

Adam Ahlbrandt certainly doesn’t allow any forms of reassurance or comfort in his movies, assaulting the viewers senses and eyeballs with scene after scene of gritty violence and perversion. Horror really is horror where Adversary films are concerned. With both Cross Bearer, and now The Cemetery, Adam Ahlbrandt is definitely a name for all horror fans to watch out for, as he really does have a firm grasp of what is scary, horiffic and he certainly knows how to make a really good horror movie.”

“Flashbacks of the the exorcism and intense violence offer for some intense camera work and make-up effects, giving the film a nice change of scenery from the somewhat typical slasher/ghost film scenario made so famous from films involving camping and woods like the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise and THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (found-footage/amateur camera realism-style), while overall adding to the enjoyment of the film. Also giving the movie some nice depth was the amusing characters and accompanying dialogue.

Adam Ahlbrandt’s THE CEMETERY is a very solid indie horror film filled with action, gore, blood, T&A, hilarious dialogue, a most memorable performance by actor Adam Huss and his crude tongue, and some of the more creative and extremely gory make-up and special effects.”
